ABOUT US!

In 1956, a new church plant began at the intersection of Perkins and Main, located in the

historic heart of Downtown Leesburg. The edifice, erected in 1883, became the home of

Central Baptist Church. Officially established on February 10, 1957, the church conducted

its inaugural service with 58 charter members. The church's mission is to disseminate His

teachings through evangelism, discipleship, and missions, adhering to conservative

doctrines and esteeming the King James Version for its accurate translation from trustworthy

manuscripts.
                                                                                                                 WHAT WE BELIEVE

THE BIBLE
We stand firm in our belief that the Holy Bible is the verbally (every word), plenary (complete), and infallible (without error) inspired Word of God as contained in the original manuscripts.

GOD
We believe in one living and true God, who exists in the unity of the Godhead (Trinity) as three Persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

CREATION
We believe in the biblical account of creation, which states that God created the world in six 24-hour days. We believe that humans were created in God's image and likeness; and that all plant and animal life was created directly by God. We reject any form of evolution.

FALL OF MAN
We believe that God created man in innocence, but when they sinned against God, they fell from their sinless state of perfection. As a result, all people born after Adam are now considered sinners, totally depraved, and therefore justly condemned and guilty before God.

SALVATION
"We believe that the salvation of sinners (all mankind) is by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. It is not by any works we might do, but solely through faith in the Redeemer’s blood. We also believe that all the redeemed, once saved, are kept by God’s power and are thus eternally secure in Christ forever."

PERSEVERANCE OF GOD
We firmly believe that the redeemed, upon salvation, are upheld by God’s power and are thus eternally secure in Christ forever.

CHURCH

We firmly believe that the local New Testament church is an assembly of believers, who have been baptized by immersion united to fulfill the "Great Commission." We believe that the officers of the Church are ordained pastors and deacons. Our ordained pastors and deacons, whose qualifications are clearly defined in the Scriptures, lead the Church. The Church observes baptism and the Lord's Supper, recognizing that they hold no saving power.
